For UPSC Civil Services (IAS/IPS/IFS), the general age limit is 21 to 32 years as on 1st August of the exam year. General category candidates can attempt the exam up to 6 times.

How is UPSC age calculated?

UPSC calculates age as on 1st August of the year of examination. For example, for CSE 2026, age is calculated as on 1st August 2026.

What relaxations apply for UPSC?

OBC candidates get 3 years age relaxation and 9 attempts. SC/ST get 5 years and unlimited attempts (up to age limit). PwBD candidates get 10 years relaxation.
